 Thanks to everyone who participated in the flower sale! Both the locally grown mixed bouquets and the pink roses were absolutely gorgeous. We hope your moms were pleased! We raised a little over $200 for CPCD.
Everything moved so quickly Saturday morning I didn't get a chance to take some of the pictures I had planned, but here is a quick shot of roses just before they came out of the cooler. This year we had pickup locations in Canal Point and Belle Glade. Please consider us next year either for flowers for mom, or yourself!

I am pleased to announced that Canal Point Community Development, Inc. finally scraped together the $750 required to apply for official non-profit status with the IRS. The completed Form 1023 and payment were mailed on April 28, 2010. Now we anxiously await their determination, but have no idea how long that might take.

Most residents of Canal Point did not recieve a Census 2010 form in the mail because they do not mail them to PO Box addresses. If you did not call and request a form or pick one up at the Stop n' Shop, your house will be on the list for door-to-door visits which begin this month. Please cooperate with Census workers. They will make multiple contacts until they reach you. This is your tax dollars at work. Census data informs decisions about how money is spent on infrastructure and services. We need a good response to even qualify for our fair share.
